Mobile brain monitoring: Patient, Doctor and Pharma perspective
Doctors are trained to rely on patient's behavior when assessing various neurological or psychiatric disorders. This is different from other medical domains, where evidence based medicine is more developed. This is partially due to low availability of inexpensive and easily interpretable brain assessments. Specifically, a clinically validated bedside neurological monitor, which can be used for assessment of a wide variety of psychiatric and neurological disorders, is not yet available.
We shall present a first-of-its-kind continuous neurological bedside monitor which provides real-time brain activity interpretation for assessment, intervention and neurofeedback.
It is wearable and mobile, and can go with the patient from the hospital to the home, or to a rehabilitation center. In addition to improving patient's care, it can assist pharmaceutical companies in neurological and psychiatric clinical studies.
